life as a celebrity; the taylor swift/ Kanye west fight

Celebrities are always in the spot light, no matter where they go. You always see the latest magazines with new pictures of celebrities who are shopping, pregnant, or with a random friend who the writers turn around and say its there new boyfriend. The Taylor Swift, Kanye West run in at the MTV Video Music Awards is all over the news lately.
If any of you don’t know what happened, Taylor was in the middle of her acceptance speech for best female video when Kanye interrupted. He jumped on stage and took the microphone from her and said that Beyonce should have won the award. Beyonce ended up winning a different award for her song Single Ladies. She let Taylor come up on stage and finish her speech at this time.
In my opinion I think yes Kanye was in the wrong for ruining her speech, but I feel like people are taking this little incident out of hand, it’s not like Kanye killed anyone or physically hurt anyone. Kanye has apologized many times for his actions at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor has said in interviews that she wishes people would talk about something different. If they both agree that its done I think it should be done.
That is one main reason I could never be in the spotlight. I am a very private person and the way there treating this small little thing is crazy in my eyes. I could never have people following me around asking me questions all day, and having people make things up about my life. I don't think its right what the public does to celebrates, but that's just my opinion.

  1. Taylor, I think this opinion is valid. I felt the same way about the coverage over Michael Jackson. I was sad that he did; he was certainly a childhood icon. But, c'mon already! There are MUCH more important things happening in our world.

You've touched on our cultural opinion/priority for celebrity. Important.

  2. I love that you picked this to write about. I feel the exact same way. My motto is Forgive and forget. I think that it is crazy that the media always looks for the wrong in someone and not the right!

  3. Taylor,
When i heard about that incident, i thought it was totally wrong for him to do that. I wouldnt like it if i was giving a speech and someone interrupted me. But i know what your saying by it not being a HUGE deal in life because stuff like that always happens live or off camera.
