College is a big step in most peoples lives. Its the transition from childhood to maturing in to adults. I can honestly say I think iv grown up with my short time iv spent at college. I learned to realize you really do need to come to class and do all of the homework assigned to you. In high school I use to miss at least 40 days a year. Ill admit I wasn't always sick on those days, but I just needed a break. I hated having to go to high school from 8 am till 3 pm. It took up my whole day. Then when I would finally get out of school, I would have to rush and get ready for work.
The classes I'm taking at ICC are kind of similar to high school to me. Except for the homework. I have a lot of homework each night plus I work 6 days a week. This is a lot to do, but it helps that I only go to school in the morning. This leaves me with time to take a nap before work and do some of my homework. When starting ICC, I was very nervous of what to expect. I seem to always think of the worst scenarios of everything. Many thoughts went through my head on that first day, for getting lost, to not knowing anyone in my classes, and even dreading to meet my new teachers. I soon found out that I love college, I love my teachers, and the new friends I have made. ICC is a good school, and it helped me with the transition from high school to college. I’m really glad I came here first before I went off to a 4 year university.

I agree. High School at times seemed to take up more tive then it should. Where as, college lets the student set up there schedule for the most part anyway. I love having all my classing done before 1.
ReplyDeleteTaylor, I had the same kind of "relaxed attendance" policy when I was a senior. :) You're right though, it doesn't fly in college.
ReplyDeleteI'm VERY glad you made the choice for ICC. It is an excellent place to learn how to be a college student while getting your education (from fabulous instructors!) on the cheap.
