the lit snap assignment

The lit snap assignment that we were given as a class to do, I think was a very helpful project. It helped me to learn the presses of writing better, to make better uses of words, and to show real emotion. At first I was dreading writing this paper so I kept putting it off. Once I finally chose my topic I knew how good of a paper I could write. I wrote my paper about how a book helped me through the tuff times and the grieving presses, after the death of a close friend. It was a very hard topic to write about , it was hard for me as a writer to give the emotion that I felt in such a terrible time in my young life.
When I finished writing my first draft of my paper, I wasn't to sure how I felt about it. I mean I thought it was good, but I knew it needed some work. I'm really glad we got all of the feedback on our papers from peers and from Stephanie. All of this helped me to finish my paper and make it that much better. The final paper that I'm turning in I fell really proud about it. I corrected all of the things Stephanie had suggested, and y paper just flows now. My paper may not be perfect or something to brag about, but this paper really helped me ad a writer. I feel like the next big assignment we get ill be ready for it!

life as a celebrity; the taylor swift/ Kanye west fight

Celebrities are always in the spot light, no matter where they go. You always see the latest magazines with new pictures of celebrities who are shopping, pregnant, or with a random friend who the writers turn around and say its there new boyfriend. The Taylor Swift, Kanye West run in at the MTV Video Music Awards is all over the news lately.
If any of you don’t know what happened, Taylor was in the middle of her acceptance speech for best female video when Kanye interrupted. He jumped on stage and took the microphone from her and said that Beyonce should have won the award. Beyonce ended up winning a different award for her song Single Ladies. She let Taylor come up on stage and finish her speech at this time.
In my opinion I think yes Kanye was in the wrong for ruining her speech, but I feel like people are taking this little incident out of hand, it’s not like Kanye killed anyone or physically hurt anyone. Kanye has apologized many times for his actions at the MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor has said in interviews that she wishes people would talk about something different. If they both agree that its done I think it should be done.
That is one main reason I could never be in the spotlight. I am a very private person and the way there treating this small little thing is crazy in my eyes. I could never have people following me around asking me questions all day, and having people make things up about my life. I don't think its right what the public does to celebrates, but that's just my opinion.

case study # 2

Write to me starts in my head. I like to think of my topic and brainstorm idea's and make sure I know enough about those ideas before I start writing. After I brain storm a topic I like to write down a few main ideas. Usually I make a list or even make a rough draft before I start typing. If I'm really into what I'm writing about I might just jump right in a start typing. When I write down ideas on pen and paper I feel like I can write anything and just make silly little notes to help me think better. For my final papers I would never hand write it , I can barely read my own writing sometimes so ill always go back and type my papers.

Most of the time I write at night. I go to my computer in the basement where its nice and quiet and all of my ideas just star flowing. Sometimes at school I'm not focused enough to write. I'm either daydreaming, or there's to much noise and commotion going on for me to concentrate. When I'm at home I feel free and I feel like I can write about what ever it is I'm feeling. I can be myself at home and write about things that matter to me. I’m kind of a slow writer, I'm slow at the process of writing and I'm a huge procrastinator. I usually wait till the last minute to write my papers. Ill stay up all night writing them though just to make sure I do my best. I wish I had more time to write, because its a way to express yourself and tell a story in an ordinary way.

abortion

There are many different views and thoughts pertaining to abortion. Abortion was a big controversy not to long ago. I personally am 100% against abortion. On the other hand I do think its every persons choice on how they feel about it. I could understand if someone was raped and got pregnant and wanted to get an abortion. Rape is a very scary thing I have never personally had to deal with rape but I know people that have. If I were to ever get raped and end up pregnant I would never get an abortion, just because I feel there are other ways to deal with having the child then just killing it. I cant say for sure what I would do in the situation but it would be between having and keeping the child or having the child then giving it up for adoption.
There are many people in this world who cant get pregnant at all and would do anything just to have a child. That’s one reason why I feel so badly about abortion, and the fact that is killing a helpless baby. If you got pregnant and weren't ready for a child then you could always find a family that wants a child. Adoption is a great alternative, you could have and open adoption and still be able to watch your child grow with its new family. If you don't feel comfortable with that then you wouldn't have to have an open adoption. I understand that there are many scenarios that would come into play with abortion. For example how old you are when you got pregnant, who the father is, if you are economically stable for a child. I feel that if your not ready for a child physically or economically then you should use birth control or a condom, so that way abortion doesn't have to happen.

Case Study

In school write is very different then out of school writing for me. In school I write about what topic is given to me. Out of school writing to me is mainly texting and facebook. One of the only times I would use in school writing out side of school would be when I was doing homework or maybe if I was typing a letter for an important even. In school writing is more proper and more thought out, where as out of school writing is laid back. When I'm texting I rarely ever worry about spelling if I'm not sure how to sell something I guess and I know my friends will understand, but at school I use spell check or a dictionary to make sure everything is correctly spelled.
Also I think the variety of writing is different, in school you write about the topic your given or school appropriate topics. Where as out of school ill write about anything such as fights, drinking, school, work , boy, and so on. I personally would never write about me drinking at school unless it was an autobiography. I wouldn't feel comfortable writing that when I have no clue who could read it, but when I'm texting or using facebook I can send it to one person and know that that's the only person reading it. If I had to choice which one I would rather do it would definitely be out of school write, I just feel more comfortable and there's less stress I have to worry about.

Dear, Ms. Scott

I'm writing this letter to introduce myself to you and teach you about myself. My name is Taylor Morgan Pfeifer, and one of your new English 105 students. There are many thing I could tell you about but some of the main things are my life, school background, goals, and some of my favorite things. By me writing this letter you should get out of it that I'm a very spontaneous and outgoing person who loves to have fun. I try to live life to the fullest and make the best of each day.
My birthday is October 1st, ill be 19 this year. I have no idea what to do for my birthday and its coming up soon. I have one brother named Travis who's 17 and a senior at Washington. I live with my father and step mother in spring bay. My parents have been divorced since I can remember, but its for the best. I use to live with my mother up until the end of my sophomore year then I moved in with my dad.
School was kind of a hassle my junior year with moving, but i ended up being able to stay at my same school which was a huge relief I did not want to go to Metamora. I attended district 50 grade school, I absolutely loved it. The teachers were all so helpful and very good at what they did. After grade school I attended Washington Community High School, you may already know this. Even though Washington is such a small town I still like the school. Currently I am at ICC to take my general education classes because I have no idea what i want to do later in life. After 2 years here I will be transferring to ISU to start my major, hopefully ill have one picked out by then. Finding a major is one of my goals for the semester, or at least to start thinking of one. Some other goals I have are to stop being so shy and let people other than my friends see my crazy fun side. Also I hope that I pass all of my classes and not miss more than 2 days of school. That's going to be hard I'm always getting sick.
One thing I'm really interested in is the show CSI, I was thinking about majoring in some field associated with that work but I'm not quite sure I could handle the dead bodies. I think ill just stick to watching it on TV. Reality shows are my favorite shows to watch I know there fake but I love them. Comity movies are the main movies I watch. For example step brothers, the hang over, big daddy, and I love you man are a few I could watch over and over again and always laugh. Concerts are so fun I went to the Lil Wayne concert this past Saturday. It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Rap isn't the only music I listen ton anything it usually depends on my mood or how my day is going.
Those are just some brief statements about myself. One of my goals was to not be so shy, so hopefully ill be able to act like my normal and crazy self in class and you can get to know me better. You already know my cousin Ryan, and we have pretty similar personalities. I'm just a fun loving girl from our small town trying to do something big in life. If you would like to know anything more about my feel free to ask.

Sincerely,
Taylor Pfeifer.
